These terms apply when you use hillhomefragrances.co.za or buy from us. Please read them before placing an order. By placing an order you agree to these terms. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA).

2. Our products
Our candles and wax melts are hand-poured with soy wax, coconut oil and fragrance oil. Because they are handmade, small differences in colour, surface finish and texture between items are normal and are not defects.
Product photos and label illustrations show our products as accurately as we can, but screens display colours differently. Scent is personal, so descriptions of how a fragrance smells are a guide only. Each product page shows its size, price and fragrance options.
3. Prices
All prices are in South African Rand (ZAR). We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added to our prices. Delivery costs are shown separately at checkout before you pay. We may change prices at any time, but the price you pay is the price shown when you place your order. If an item is clearly listed at the wrong price because of an error, we will contact you before processing the order and you may cancel for a full refund.
4. Placing an order
Before you place your order, checkout lets you review everything, correct any mistakes and cancel if you change your mind. After you order, we send a confirmation by email; you can also see your orders under My Account if you created an account.
Your order is an offer to buy. A binding agreement is formed once we confirm and accept your order. We may decline or cancel an order, for example if an item is unavailable or a payment cannot be verified; if you have already paid, we will refund you in full.
5. Payment
The payment methods available are shown at checkout. Payments are processed securely by our third-party payment provider, which uses encryption to protect your details. We do not see or store your full card details.
6. Delivery
We deliver within South Africa. Delivery times and costs are explained on our Shipping & Delivery page.
7. Cancelling your order (cooling-off)
Under section 44 of ECTA, you may cancel an online purchase without reason and without penalty within 7 days of receiving the goods. Please contact us first; returned goods should be unused and in their original condition and packaging. The only cost to you is the direct cost of returning the goods. We will refund any payment made within 30 days of your cancellation.
This cooling-off right does not apply to goods made to your specifications or clearly personalised, such as Create Your Own candles (ECTA section 42(2)).
8. Returns, faulty goods and refunds
Our Refund & Returns policy explains how returns, exchanges and refunds work. Your rights under the CPA to return goods that are faulty, unsafe or not as described are not affected.
9. Safe use
Please use our products only as described on the label and on our Care & FAQ page. In particular: never leave a burning candle unattended, keep candles and warmers away from children, pets and flammable materials, and place them on a heat-resistant, stable surface. Our products are not for consumption. If you have allergies or sensitivities, please check the fragrance notes before buying and stop using a product if it causes irritation.
10. Our responsibility to you
We take care to make safe, good-quality products. To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for loss or damage caused by using a product contrary to its instructions or safety warnings, by normal wear, or by events outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability where the CPA or any other law does not allow it.
11. Our content
The Hill name, logo, label illustrations, photos and text on this website belong to Hill Home Fragrances. Please do not copy or use them without our written permission.
12. Your privacy
We handle your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA). Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why, and our PAIA Manual explains how to request information we hold.
13. Complaints and disputes
If something is not right, please contact us first at hello@hillhomefragrances.co.za and we will do our best to resolve it quickly. If we cannot resolve a complaint, you may refer it to the Consumer Goods and Services Ombud. These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page when you place your order applies to that order.
